Kazakhstan's Tokayev suggests creating coalition of countries on primary health care

A coalition of countries on primary health care (PHC) could be created with support of the World Health Organization.

Report informs citing the Kazakh media that such an initiative was suggested by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev during the plenary session of the Global Conference on Primary Health Care.

According to him, the coalition will promote the principles of prevention and health care, as well as develop joint recommendations for the development of primary health care.

Tokayev noted that the primary health care system plays a critical role in identifying early signs of epidemics and responding to unexpected challenges. Therefore, it is necessary to calculate all possible risks and maintain the healthcare system in constant readiness.

He touched upon the measures being taken to develop the healthcare system in the country.

"The entire child population of the country is covered by preventive medical examinations. Every year, about three million adults undergo a program of screenings and professional examinations," the president noted.

In addition, digital technologies such as telemedicine and remote monitoring are being actively introduced, which significantly increase the accessibility of primary health care.
