Kazakhstan plans to close its trade representation in Russia, Report informs referring to Sputnik-Tajikistan.

According to the relevant draft of the government, the order of the Kazakh prime minister dated January 24, 2023, became the basis for the liquidation of the representative office. The text of the order has not been published.

Russia and Kazakhstan signed an agreement on the establishment of representative offices in October 1992. The document was ratified in 2012. In Russia, the trade representation of Kazakhstan was opened in 2009. It is located in Moscow, there is also a representative office in Kazan.

The trade representation helps Kazakh exporters and distributors to work on the Russian market and attract foreign investments to Kazakhstan.
