Kazakhstan arrests 19 people on suspicion of committing terror attacks

The Kazakh National Security Committee has arrested 19 people who are suspected of committing terror crimes, including a terror attack using an improvised explosive device in one of the crowded places, Report informs referring to Kazakh presidential press service.

It was also reported that in four months of 2023, the National Security Committee officers neutralized 8 dangerous organized criminal groups, liquidated 7 underground workshops for the manufacture of weapons and ammunition.

“As many as 268 units of weapons, 21 grenades and more than 30,000 pieces of ammunition were confiscated. The activity of 16 drug laboratories, 11 international and 17 regional drug channels was stopped,” reads the report.

President Tokayev, following the meeting, gave a number of specific instructions in the areas of activity of the national security agencies.
