Kazakhstan Foreign Ministry to summon Russian ambassador

Kazakhstan's Foreign Ministry is considering the candidacy of the new Ukrainian ambassador in Astana, Aybek Smadiyarov told journalists, according to Report.

"The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has currently filed a request to appoint a new ambassador in Astana. We would like to note that we have full understanding with the Ukrainian side on this issue," Smadiyarov said.

He noted that the Foreign Ministry of Kazakhstan will summon the Russian ambassador to Kazakhstan for talks on Wednesday.

He noted that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan believes that the tone of the statement of the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova about the Ukrainian ambassador to the republic "is discordant with the nature of allied relations between Kazakhstan and Russia as equal strategic partners."
