IRNA: 3 died in plant explosion in northern Iran

Three people were killed and three others were injured in an explosion at a plant in the province of Mazandaran in northern Iran, Report informs via IRNA.

The accident occurred in the eastern part of Babol city.

According to preliminary data, the cause of the incident was the non-observance of safety rules by the enterprise’s workers. All victims were hospitalized, and their condition is assessed as satisfactory by doctors.

The explosion caused a fire that destroyed about half of the area of the enterprise. The fire was contained, and according to IRNA, other nearby industrial facilities were not affected.
