Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian will attend the BRICS summit in Kazan, where he is scheduled to meet with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, Iranian Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali said, Report informs via TASS.
"Yes, I think he will take part in the BRICS summit in Kazan. We are currently preparing for this visit so that it is useful and successful for our bilateral relations," the ambassador said, answering a question about it. "As for bilateral relations, a meeting with Russian leader Mr. Putin is planned, as well as bilateral meetings with other leaders, with the Iranian community, and a speech at the summit."
As of January 1, 2024, the BRICS chairmanship passed to Russia, it will last until the end of the year and includes more than 200 events that have a wide range of topics. The main event of the chairmanship will be the BRICS summit in Kazan in October 2024. Iran joined BRICS on January 1, 2024.
