Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi is going to hold a series of bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session. However, meetings with the Americans are not scheduled, Raisi said this on Monday before flying to the United States, Report informs via TASS.

"We will hold bilateral meetings with the leaders of some countries on the sidelines of the session of the UN General Assembly <...>. During the trip, no talks or meetings with the Americans are planned, we have no plans to meet with them," said the President of Iran, his words are quoted by his office.

Raisi also plans to meet with Iranians living in the US.

"The principle of participating in this summit and holding meetings will be consistent with the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic, which is based on honor, wisdom and the idea of ​​expediency," the president pointed out.

He, as the statement says, expects the UN General Assembly to "explain the position of the Islamic Republic of Iran" and report on the "atrocities" that are being committed against his country. The Iranian president, according to his office, has already flown from Tehran to New York.
