Iranian president calls on BRICS to create dollar-independent trade settlement system

At the expanded BRICS summit meeting, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian called on the member countries of the association to create a commercial payment system independent of the US dollar, Report informs via TASS.

"We need to increase efforts aimed at reducing the dominance of the dollar in the world economy by having the BRICS group make operational decisions to create a BRICS currency basket or a new payment mechanism independent of the dollar," he noted.
