Iranian activist Maleyka Garagozlu has been sentenced to four years and four months in prison.

Report informs citing GünAz TV that she will also have to pay a fine.

Maleyka is forbidden to engage in social activities after serving her prison term, to join public and political organizations. She is also banned from social media activities and from leaving the country for two years.

Maleyka Garagozlu was detained on July 13 after she shared a video in which she takes off her hijab and throws it on the ground in protest against mandatory headscarf wearing in Iran.
