Over 3,000 workers employed by various companies in Iran's oil-producing regions have gone on strike, Report informs via Voice of America's Persian Service.
The striking workers are demanding higher wages, a shift schedule of 14 days on and 14 days off, and improved working conditions. This strike is the latest in a series of protests that have swept across Iran's industrial sectors in recent months.
In addition to the oil workers, employees at coal, copper, iron, and chromium mines in the provinces of Kerman, Mazandaran, Yazd, Razavi Khorasan, South Khorasan, and Semnan have also staged strikes to protest poor working conditions and low pay.
