Iran joins Shanghai Cooperation Organization

Iran has become the member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), Report informs, citing Sputnik-Uzbekistan.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed in Samarkand by the Iranian Foreign Minister and the secretary general of the organization.
SCO Secretary General Zhang Ming called this day an important day both for Iran and the organization. "Iran's entry into the group of participating countries will strengthen the Shanghai Cooperation Organization," he said.
The summit will be attended by the SCO heads of state, observer countries and invited presidents.
