Iran executed 997 people in 2024

In 2024, Iran executed 997 people, according to information from the Iranian opposition, Report informs via Bild.
Human rights activists noted that the actual number of executions might be higher, as not all death sentences were registered.
The number of executions in 2024 increased by 16 percent compared to 2023. Of the 997 executed, 34 were women and 9 were teenagers. Four men were executed in public, while the rest were executed in prison.
