Iran eliminates cell of 19 terrorists

Authorities have eliminated a terrorist cell in the province of Sistan and Baluchestan in southeastern Iran, 19 militants were arrested, reads a joint statement by the intelligence department and the intelligence organization of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in the province, Report informs referring to TASS.

“Foreign spy services are trying to destabilize the situation in the country,” the Mehr agency quotes a statement issued in the city of Zahedan, the administrative center of the province of Sistan and Baluchestan. “The arrested militants of the criminal group have carried out numerous terror attacks and tried to sow hostility on ethnic and religious grounds. In recent months they managed to attract information technology specialists to their criminal activities to prepare the murders of ethnic and religious leaders, incite unrest, and attacks on army and law enforcement facilities.”
