Iran detains 12 Afghan immigrants suspected of planning kidnapping

Twelve Afghan citizens suspected of planning to kidnap children and teenagers have been detained in Iran’s Hormozgan province, Report informs via Radio Farda.

The operation was conducted by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The detained individuals were living in Iran as immigrants.

Local observers suggest that this incident might be one of many pretexts for the recent expulsion of Afghan immigrants from Iran.

The authorities in Tehran have been increasingly expelling Afghan immigrants for various reasons, and they have also been exerting pressure on the Taliban government in Afghanistan.
