Investigation into police abuse of power launched in Georgia

The Special Investigation Service of Georgia has launched an inquiry into the case of abuse of power by the police concerning participants in the protest against the bill on foreign agents in Tbilisi, Report informs via Georgian media.
“The Special Investigative Service began an investigation into the facts of abuse of power by law enforcement officers against participants in the protests on May 13, 2024, under paragraph B of the third part of Article 333,” the statement said.
Earlier today it was reported that 20 people were detained during the protest, including a Russian citizen and two US citizens.
