Inmate tries to kill prison employee in Armenia’s Armavir

A prisoner tried to kill an employee of the Armavir penitentiary institution in Armenia, according to the press service of the Investigative Committee of Armenia, Report informs referring to Sputnik Armenia.

A prisoner in the quarantine building of the penitentiary institution asked the guard to take him out of the cell under the pretext of talking on the phone, and the other person agreed.

The detainee attacked the penitentiary officer, trying to use a metal piercing object taken in advance from the cell. With this object, as well as with his fists, he began to beat the guard on the head, after which he tried to squeeze his neck. Сircumstances beyond his control prevented him from killing the officer.

A criminal case has been opened under the article of attempted murder.

The case was sent to the investigative department of the Investigative Committee for the Armavir region.
