India on Tuesday condemned the killing of civilians at Bucha in Ukraine and backed the call for an independent investigation into the incident, Report informs, citing foreign media.

Speaking at a meeting of the United Nations Security Council that was also addressed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, TS Tirumurti, the Indian representative to the UN, described reports of civilian killings in Bucha as "deeply disturbing."

"We unequivocally condemn these killings and support the call for an independent investigation," Tirumurti said, without naming Russia.

The situation in Ukraine has not shown any "significant improvement" since the Security Council last discussed the issue. "The security situation has only deteriorated, as well as its humanitarian consequences," he said.

In his speech, the representative of India also spoke about the humanitarian assistance provided by India to Ukraine in the form of medicines and other necessary materials for rendering assistance. And he added that India "is ready to supply more medicines to Ukraine in the coming days."

At the same time, the Indian airline Air India has stopped selling tickets on the Delhi-Moscow-Delhi route, as reported by the Russian Embassy in India on its Telegram channel.

"The prospects for resuming flights remain uncertain at the moment," the statement said. Passengers who have purchased tickets for canceled flights will receive a full refund.

Passengers can get to Russia in transit through Istanbul, Dubai, Tashkent, Doha, and other routes, the press service of the diplomatic department added.
