Mikheil Kavelashvili took the oath to the Georgian people in the parliament building and became the sixth president of Georgia, Report informs via Georgian media.

"I, the President of Georgia, swear before God and the people that I will protect the Constitution of Georgia, the independence, integrity, and indivisibility of the country, faithfully fulfill the duties of president, care for the security and well-being of my country's citizens, and for the revival and power of my people and Homeland."

Kavelashvili took the oath on a specially printed copy of the Georgian Constitution prepared for this day. This copy will later be transferred to the parliament museum and is planned to be used for subsequent inaugurations.

The inauguration ceremony of Georgia's sixth president Mikheil Kavelashvili began in the parliament building, Report informs via Georgian media.

The ceremony will last 40 minutes. Kavelashvili will take the oath on the inaugural constitution, which will be kept in the parliament museum.

The inauguration will be attended by members of the presidential electoral college, which includes members of parliament, local government representatives, as well as representatives of the Supreme Councils of Adjara and Abkhazia, the Georgian government, constitutional bodies, etc.
