Impeachment proceedings against Georgian President start

The Constitutional Court of Georgia has begun the impeachment proceedings against President Salome Zourabichvili, Report informs, citing the local press.
“As all nine judges who are members of the plenum participated in the meeting, there is a quorum of judges," said Merab Turava, Chairman of the Constitutional Court.
5 members of the parliament’s “Georgian Dream" faction, including Irakli Kobakhidze, who are the authors of the impeachment, are participating in the trial.
However, the President of Georgia does not participate in the trial. Tamar Chugoshvili and Maya Kopaleishvili are representing her in the Constitutional Court.
