Hulusi Akar appeals to int'l community regarding Greece

"History will not write the fictions of Greek politicians, but that their hands are soaked in the blood of babies," Turkish National Defense Minister, Hulusi Akar, said at a meeting with high-ranking officials, Report informs.

Akar warned Greece: "As Mr. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, international institutions should impose sanctions on Greece, which has turned the Aegean into a graveyard. The international community should say 'stop' to these steps of Greece."

The minister invited Athens to the negotiation table:

"Greece should not see Turkiye as a threat, but as a safe and effective ally and neighbor. This will be to the benefit of themselves, the region, and NATO. The Greek people should also be convinced that Turkiye is a supporter of a peace-oriented future with Greece. We also expect third parties to approach the issue in accordance with international law and logic, impartial and objective."

Akar stressed that Turkiye is determined and capable of protecting its rights and interests in the eastern Aegean and Mediterranean Seas, including Northern Cyprus.
