Armenia is not ready to evacuate its citizens, High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs of Armenia Zareh Sinanyan said at a meeting in the Armenian parliament, Report says citing Rusarminfo.
"Let's be honest. If Armenians repatriate to the country due to the pandemic, would we cope with it? This is the key issue," Sinanyan said.
The High Commissioner said that before working on the repatriation, it is necessary to ask whether Armenia would be able to provide the evacuees with required conditions and jobs.
The government has set a strategic goal for 30 years to ensure the evacuation of 2-2.5 million people to Armenia, Sinanyan stressed.
