Heavy snowfall paralyzes traffic in Istanbul

Intensive snowfall in Istanbul, Turkey, hinders traffic and pedestrian movement in many parts of the city.
Report's local bureau informs that the snowfall caused road accidents, especially in Bahcelievler, Besiktas, Kucukcekmece, Beylikduzu, Kadikoy, and several other districts of the city.
According to recent information, the snow blanket in Istanbul has reached 75 cm.
Amid snowstorm crippling life in Istanbul, Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoglu and head of Turkey's Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) Yunus Sezer headed to the metropolitan city following order of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in the first hours of Tuesday.
