Health Ministry says Georgia edging closer to end of pandemic

Georgia is really close to the end of the pandemic, the country's Health Minister Zurab Azarashvili told a briefing.

Report's local bureau quotes the minister as saying hospitalizations and daily coronavirus tally had dropped dramatically in Georgia recently.

He said the number of coronavirus patients in hospitals does not exceed 800.

"We also observe a significant decline in deaths. Over the past day, the facts of death range between 8 and 10, hitting the lowest over the past year," the minister said.
