Baku. 29 October. REPORT.AZ / The second round of the presidential elections in Georgia will be held two weeks after the announcement of the final results of voting on October 28, Report informs citing the head of Georgian CEC Tamar Zhvaniya.

According to her, according to the law, the maximum period of publication of the final results is 20 days after the election date.

By the law, the candidate with more than 50% of the votes is considered the winner of the election. If none of the candidates can get such a result, the second round will be held between the two candidates with the best result.

According to the preliminary data of the CEC, Salome Zurabishvili received 614 964 votes, which is 38,66%, while Grigol Vashadze won 599 662 (37.7 %) votes.
