A peaceful settlement in Ukraine may be reached within a year, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said at a joint press conference with his Ukrainian counterpart Andrii Sybiha in Kyiv, Report informs.
He noted that Türkiye is holding consultations with Ukraine on the June 2 negotiations in Istanbul. Ankara wants to build on the momentum achieved in the negotiations, he said.
"We are approaching a critical point in the war in Ukraine. The negotiations in Istanbul on May 16 became a new beginning of a diplomatic settlement in Ukraine. We want to maintain the momentum, the dynamics achieved in Istanbul, and are ready to host a new round of negotiations," he added.
