Peace in the South Caucasus is closer today than ever before, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said at the Turkish Grand National Assembly.
According to Report, he urged Azerbaijan and Armenia not to miss this historic opportunity: "Undoubtedly, this is based on Azerbaijan's liberation of its territories from occupation. We maintain our bilateral relations with Azerbaijan at the highest level and make joint efforts to resolve many international issues. We welcome Armenia's choice in favor of peace and stability, and we urge both countries not to miss this historic opportunity."
Fidan recalled that for the first time after a long break, the parties held a meeting in Istanbul without mediators and third parties. "At the '3+3' platform meeting in Istanbul in October, we discussed all regional issues. With peace and stability coming to the South Caucasus, not only humanitarian issues will be resolved, but conditions will also be created for trade, interaction, and development," he concluded.
