The Turkish authorities may postpone the presidential and parliamentary elections, which were scheduled for May this year, Report informs referring to Habertürk.
The ruling party is taking this issue seriously against the backdrop of a large-scale earthquake.
“A decision will be made on the elections. Then the High Electoral Commission will state that it has become virtually impossible to hold elections in full in four regions and partially in six regions (due to the consequences of earthquakes), and will ask to postpone the elections,” reads the text.
The vote as a result can be postponed for at least six months, and in the worst case for a whole year.
