Strategic cooperation with Azerbaijan is important not only for Georgia, but also in the context of international cooperation, First Vice-Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Giorgi Volski said, commenting on the official visit of President Mikheil Kavelashvili to Azerbaijan, Report informs.
He noted that Kavelashvili's visit to Azerbaijan was of great importance: "In general, the issue of strategic cooperation with Azerbaijan is on the agenda, which is of interest not only to us, but also to the international community.
As noted in the recent statement of President Ilham Aliyev, this is one of the issues that falls within the sphere of interests of leading states and international communities."
During a two-day visit to Azerbaijan on April 15-16, Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili held meetings with President Ilham Aliyev, Prime Minister Ali Asadov and Chairperson of the Parliament Sahiba Gafarova.
