Georgian FM: Munich Conference report on Ivanishvili politically biased

One of the reports of the Munich Security Conference, where the founder of the ruling party “Georgian Dream - Democratic Georgia” Bidzina Ivanishvili is referred to as a “pro-Russian oligarch”, does not reflect reality and is politically biased, said Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili, Report informs referring to Georgian media.

The 2024 report states that billionaire Ivanishvili is a pro-Russian oligarch and is responsible for Georgia’s retreat from the course of democracy and the country’s distance from the EU contrary to the wishes of the majority of Georgian society.

“I had the opportunity to talk with the executive director (Benedikt Franke) about the report published a few days ago. This assessment, which is given in a specific report and which is based on an expert opinion, does not reflect reality and was politically biased,” Darchiashvili noted.
