"Information in Russian media resources about the beginning of a procedure for recognizing the occupied territories of Abkhazia and the Tskhinvali region does not correspond to the reality," the Georgian bureau of Report says, citing a statement by the Georgian Foreign Ministry.
It was noted that the Georgian embassy in Belarus contacted the Foreign Ministry of this country on this issue and Belarus denied the information.
According to the information on Russian Internet resources, the Belarusian government is planning to recognize Abkhazia’s "independence" in the near future, and that a corresponding bill would be submitted to the parliament.
