Georgian FM: I do not want to see Russian tanks moving towards Tbilisi

"I do not want to see what happened in Georgia in 2008, Russian tanks moving towards Tbilisi. I don't want to see how the capital and airports are bombed," Georgian Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani said when asked by reporters why Tbilisi did not join the sanctions against Russia, the local bureau of Report informs.

"I don't think you want to see that either," he said.

David Zalkaliani said Georgia is in solidarity with Ukraine: "We have repeatedly stated our unwavering support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and this is very well understood and accepted by our international partners."

The foreign minister noted that Georgia has joined many resolutions and declarations in support of Ukraine: "The fact that the Georgian embassy in Ukraine is still operating is an indication of unwavering support for Ukraine."
