Georgia to host chess tournament dedicated to memory of Heydar Aliyev

A chess tournament among teenagers and youth dedicated to the 98th birthday anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev will be held at the initiative of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Georgia and with the support of SOCAR Georgia, the embassy told Report's Georgian bureau.

Georgian citizens between the ages of 8-14 and 14-35 wishing to participate in the tournament can register until May 9, 2021, by writing to the embassy's mail address [email protected] or calling + 995-577-60-60-06.

The Heydar Aliyev chess tournament will start at 10:00 on May 10 at the embassy (Tbilisi, Vakhtang Gorgasali Street 4).

According to the tournament results, Georgian citizens who win the first three places in two categories on the same day will be awarded at the embassy by Ambassador Faig Guliyev and authorized representatives of the Georgian government.

The tournament will be held under the supervision of judges according to a rule called "Swiss system" (10 minutes, without additions).
