Georgia to get questionnaire over EU membership next week

Georgia will receive a questionnaire over the EU membership next week, the local bureau of the Report informs, citing Georgian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mari Narchemashvili.

According to her, by obtaining the questionnaire, Georgia will enter a new important stage in the process of integration into the EU.

“Georgia is actively preparing for the next procedure for applying for membership. We are confident that Georgia will succeed in this process. The fact that Georgia received the questionnaire together with the associated countries in such a short period of time is a confirmation of the European partners' support for Georgia's integration process and successful reforms.”

The neighboring country had planned to submit an official application for full membership in the EU in 2024. Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili signed an application for membership in the union on March 3 this year. The EU has adopted the document and the European Commission has already begun discussing the issue.
