Georgia’s security service blames Saakashvili supporters for plotting coup

There was a plan to stage a coup in Georgia, the local bureau of Report informs, citing a briefing at the State Security Service (SSS).
It was noted that supporters of the third President Mikheil Saakashvili intended to take anti-government actions. They thought of closing the roads, creating chaos and uncontrollable situation if the former president were to be transferred to a hospital or other prison.
The SSS also provided audio recordings, proving that such plans were discussed.
An investigation has been launched under the article of the Criminal Code on forcible change of the constitutional order, coup, actions aimed at seizing power.
