Georgia posts fivefold increase in arrivals from Russia

During January-October of 2022, Georgia was visited by 889,500 Russian citizens, up 419.8% from ten months of 2021 and down 32.8% from 2019, the National Tourism Administration said.

Report informs, citing Georgian media, that during ten months, Georgia received almost 4.4 million international travelers, which is 188.5% more compared to the same period of last year and 45.2% less than before the pandemic, in 2019.

Of the total number of arrivals, over 3 million were tourist arrivals, up 137.9% from January-October 2021 and up 68.8% from 2019.

According to the National Tourism Administration, Russia is leading for the number of its citizens' visits to Georgia. In October alone, the country was visited by 109,200 Russian citizens, which is an increase of 274.4% from the same period of 2021 and a decline of 7.7% from 2019.
