Georgia holds SHARP LYNX 2026 exercise with NATO partners

Georgia is conducting the SHARP LYNX 2026 computer-based exercise as part of its integration into the NATO Multinational Military Police Battalion.

According to Report's Georgian bureau, the country's Ministry of Defense said the opening ceremony was held at the NATO-Georgia Joint Training and Evaluation Center (JTEC).

Deputy Commander of the Georgian Defense Forces Major General Irakli Chichinadze, Military Police Department Chief Major General Shalva Shengelia and JTEC Commander Colonel David Gagua attended the ceremony and wished the participants success.

The exercise is designed to assess the capabilities of the military police of the Georgian Defense Forces.

SHARP LYNX 2026 is one of the final activities conducted under the procedures established for joining the NATO Multinational Military Police Battalion. Held within the framework of the Substantial NATO-Georgia Package (SNGP), the exercise aims to improve interoperability, staff procedures, coordination and command capabilities in a multinational environment.

Representatives of military police units from Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Croatia and Hungary are also taking part in the exercise alongside Georgia.
