Foreigner in Georgia charged with attempted murder of 3 people

The Georgian prosecutor’s office has charged a foreign citizen with attempting to murder three people in Tbilisi, including his wife, under aggravating circumstances, Report informs referring to Georgian media.

As the investigation established, a foreigner, whose citizenship isn’t named, in the residential area of Tbilisi - Zgvis Ubani, forcibly put his wife into a car. Two people saw this and decided to help the woman. The accused, while driving, hit them, as a result of which they were injured. The wife managed to jump out of the car, the accused got out of the car and began to chase her, and swung an object picked up from the ground at his wife several times. But eyewitnesses prevented him from doing this.

The foreign citizen faces 16 to 20 years in prison if found guilty of coercion of a family member and attempted premeditated murder under aggravating circumstances of a family member and two people.

The court, based on a request from the prosecutor’s office, has already chosen the accused to be placed in custody as a preventive measure.
