Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, in a phone call with his Iraqi counterpart Fuad Hussein, emphasized that the United States seeks to undermine the relations between the two neighboring and friendly countries.
Report informs via ISNA that the foreign ministers discussed the recent events in the region, including the recent US operations against Houthi rebels in Yemen and the resumption of Israeli military actions in Gaza and Lebanon.
Referring to the sanctions imposed by the US on Iran's oil industry, Araghchi described the accusations and claims made by the White House to pressure the Islamic Republic as baseless and unfounded.
The Iranian minister warned about the serious threats posed by the use of US bases in regional countries and their airspace for conducting aggressive actions against regional states. He stressed the importance of all countries in the region taking necessary measures to protect their sovereignty and prevent the use of their territories and facilities by foreign military forces to destabilize other nations.
