FM: Attack on Iran's nuclear facilities will have long-term consequences

The United States violated international law and the nuclear non-proliferation regime by attacking Iranian civilian facilities in Isfahan, Natanz, and Fordow; strikes on nuclear infrastructure will have long-term consequences, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic, Abbas Araghchi, wrote on X, Report informs.

"The United States, as a permanent member of the Security Council, grossly violated the UN Charter, norms of international law, and the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty by attacking Iran's peaceful nuclear facilities. The events of this morning are outrageous and will have long-term consequences," the Foreign Minister stated.

He also emphasized that in accordance with the UN Charter, which allows for legitimate self-defense, the republic reserves the right to protect its sovereignty and national interests.

The US Air Force attacked Iranian nuclear facilities in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. The Iranian side confirmed the strikes, while emphasizing that Tehran will continue to develop its nuclear industry.
