Finland will tighten a number of legal regulations regarding entry into the country from September 1, Report informs referring to TASS.
The corresponding changes were approved by the Finnish government.
President Alexander Stubb will formally approve these provisions on July 5.
The Aliens Act will define every situation in which a residence permit must be refused, including providing false information, illegal stay, illegal work in Finland and arranged marriage, the Ministry of Internal Affairs said in an explanation.
The procedure for obtaining a residence permit for asylum seekers, including confirmation of their identity, will be significantly tightened.
Refugees will not be able to change the legal basis for staying in the country, for example, by getting a job. Also, biometric data will be added to the information about entry refusal in the Schengen information system.
The changes were part of Prime Minister Petteri Orpo's government program to tighten immigration policies.
