Expert: Turkey's mission is to reduce Russian-Ukrainian tension

"The major mission of Turkey in the confrontation between Ukraine and Russia is to reduce tension," Turkish military expert Mete Yarar told Report's Turkish bureau.

According to him, it would be wrong to assess the current conflict as a Russian-Ukrainian crisis: "This conflict reflects not only Ukrainian-Russian relations, but also signs of a war for power, which will sooner or later begin between NATO and the Eastern Bloc."

However, according to the expert, the Russian-Ukrainian crisis, which has deepened in recent days, will not escalate into a war: "I believe that the military-political crisis between Russia and Ukraine, especially in the current situation, is unlikely to escalate into a war."
