Expert: Iran not only engaging in barbaric attacks at home, but also facilitates atrocities abroad

Iran is not only engaging in barbaric attacks at home but is engaging in and facilitating atrocities abroad, including by providing a variety of weapons to Russia to use against the people of Ukraine, Senior Vice President for Government Relations and Strategy Toby Dershowitz at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies told Report.

“It’s in our collective interest to thwart this. We ignore this at our peril," she said adding that facilitating Russian atrocities in Ukraine should not be taken as normal.

She added that it’s up to the people of Iran to decide their destiny: “They will direct how the protests unfold. If the regime cares about its population more than it cares about its own power, it will end its brutality, but that’s unlikely.”

“So, protestors will need to rely on the world to ensure the changes in leadership and the rights they seek materialize. The world should ensure real accountability in courts of law, in international forums and if needed, when threatened, on the battlefield,” she said.
