The European Union has imposed sanctions against the managers of major Russian media, Report informs citing TASS that EU’s official journal.
The general director of the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company, Oleg Dobrodeyev; the editor-in-chief of the Moskovsky Komsomolets, Pavel Gusev; and the general director of TASS Sergei Mikhailov fell under the restrictions.
In addition, sanctions were imposed on director-general of St. Petersburg TV channel Aleksandr Malkevich; editor-in-chief of the National Defense magazine Igor Korotchenko; president of Krasnaya Zvezda media holding Aleksei Pimanov; and editor-in-chief and director-general of Komsomolskaya Pravda media group, Vladimir Sungorkin.
The sanctions include freezing their assets in the EU and a ban on entry into EU countries. These restrictions are part of the fifth package of EU restrictive measures against Russia, which came into force from the moment of publication.
