Türkiye plans to welcome 60 million tourists by the end of 2024, receiving of $60 billion in revenue from the tourism industry, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in Antalya, Report informs via Turkish media.
"Our tourism goal is to welcome 60 million visitors to our country in 2024 and generate $60 billion in tourism revenue," the president said.
Earlier, similar plans were voiced by the country's Ministry of Tourism Mehmet Ersoy.
According to official data, 56.7 million tourists visited Türkiye in 2023, which is 12% more than a year earlier. Tourism revenues totaled $54.3 billion last year, up 16.9% from 2022. At that time, 51.4 million tourists visited Türkiye , and the income of its tourism industry amounted to $46.5 billion.
