Erdoğan: "Terrorists have not left the border"

"We have turned Ras al-Ayn and Tel Abyad into a safe haven as a result of the anti-terrorist Operation Peace Spring," Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said at an expanded meeting of provincial council chairs of the Justice and Development Party (AKP).

"We have turned 8,200 sq km into a safe area after the anti-terrorist operation in Syria."

"The countries we spoke to have made promises to us. However, we see that they did not fulfill the commitments to free the entire frontier of the terrorist group (Turkey-Syria border - ed.) to a depth of 30-32 km. The separatist terrorist group (PKK / YPG-PYD - ed.) hinders peace and stability in the region. Reconstruction of residential areas requires safety and security," the Turkish president said.
