Erdogan: New reforms being prepared to strengthen branches of government in Turkiye

Any distancing from the rule of law inevitably reduces respect for the judicial and executive systems, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in a message to the participants of the conference on constitutional law in the Islamic world, which started on Friday at the Dolmabahce Palace in Istanbul.

Report informs, citing Anadolu, that the Turkish leader said the states that ignore the concept of justice are doomed to collapse and a decline in public confidence.

Any contradictions between the branches of government inevitably affect society, Erdogan said, adding that the modern history of Turkiye is an example of such crises.

"Next year, new reforms aimed at improving the branches of government are planned in Turkiye. The reforms will increase the efficiency of the executive branch, as well as contribute to the work of the legislative and executive systems," Erdogan said.

The Turkish leader noted that the steps taken in recent years made it possible to guarantee at the constitutional level not only the independence, but also the impartiality of the Turkish judiciary, which eliminated a gap in the country's legal system.
