Erdogan leaves for quake-hit Kahramanmaras

President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan left for the area of Elbistan in the Kahramanmaras province affected by devastating earthquakes. The president's plane departed to the disaster area from Ankara's Esenboga airport.

Report informs via TRT Haber that Erdogan is accompanied by Devlet Bahceli, chairman of the Party of National Movement, and Mustafa Destici, head of the Party of Great Unity.

They will further visit the quake-affected regions of Afshin in Kahramanmaras and Dogansehir in Malatya to see what is being done to eliminate the consequences of the earthquakes.

The head of state will also meet with the residents of the disaster area.

Two devastating earthquakes of magnitudes 7.7 and 7.6 rocked southeastern Türkiye on February 6, killing over 44,000 people.
