Russian troops use the Zaporizhzhia and Chernobyl power plants as military bases, Petro Kotin, Head of NNEGC Energoatom, said, Report informs, citing Ukrainian media.
He said Russian troops explode ammunition in direct proximity to the Zaporizhzhia NPP, which represents a considerable threat.
"This threatens the discharge of radioactive materials. The Zaporizhzhia NPP alone consists of six power units. There's too much nuclear material in there. In each reactor, the core is fully loaded with fuel, and each power unit has a spent nuclear fuel holding pool," he said in an interview with NV.
