CSTO Sec.-Gen. says no official statements on suspension of Armenia’s membership

Armenia has not recently participated in the work of the secretariat of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), but there have been no official statements about the suspension of Armenia’s membership in the organization, CSTO Secretary-General Imangali Tasmagambetov said in an interview with TASS, Report informs.

“Yerevan has indeed not recently participated in the work of the CSTO secretariat. This is Armenia’s decision at this stage, and we, as an international organization, respect any decision of a sovereign state. However, the organization’s activities continue in full, all procedures are observed in full accordance with the regulatory framework of the CSTO,” said the organization’s secretary-general. “The secretariat informs the relevant structures in Yerevan on a daily basis about the decisions taken and adopted. Regarding the mentioned statements by officials of the Republic of Armenia, I note that the secretariat did not receive any official statements from Yerevan about the suspension of membership in the organization.”
