Armenian Prosecutor General's Office: Crimes against children rising

The number of crimes against children is growing in Armenia, Report informs, citing the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia.
A total of 259 reports on crimes against minors were received in 2020, while in 2021, this figure was 292.
Crimes against children include beatings, physical or psychological abuse, rape, and a ban on visiting a close relative or parent.
A total of 90 criminal cases were sent to court together with indictments in 2021.
According to the prosecutor's office, 40% of offenses against children were committed by persons entrusted with the function of education.
